To realize its vision of becoming a first-world country by 2050, the Philippines delineates immediate, short-, medium-, long-term, and visionary goals, necessitating collaboration between government, private sector, and citizens. Key objectives encompass achieving Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, attaining first-world status by 2040, and ranking among the world’s top 20 economies by 2050. Visionary leadership, political will, strategic planning, decisive action, and responsible citizenship are paramount. Recommendations from the National Economic and Development Authority’s Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 advocate for promoting active transportation, progressive infrastructure, and developing new cities and airports. Implementing smart cities, vertical cities, and green urbanism principles, exemplified by initiatives like Postcards from the Future, aims to propel the Philippines to global excellence. Collective efforts can contribute to building a sustainable and progressive nation, achieving top 20 global economic status by 2050.
